:bulletgreen: EDIT: The Album version leaked!  SO MUCH BETTER than the Radio (clean) version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AldyML…

Green Day released a new single today on BBC radio in the UK:  KILL THE DJ!
Of course, it's been recorded and placed on YouTube.

:bulletgreen: You can listen to the radio version here: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=…

This song was also played last week at Green Day's surprise show at the Echoplex in LA (I had the pleasure of being there!)
Of course, it was recorded and placed on YouTube.

:bulletgreen: You can listen to the LIVE version here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnrcaO…

The single version should be available to purchase and download soon!

:bulletgreen: Also, everyone remember that the Oh Love music video will be released on MTV Wednesday (August 15th) at 7:49pm

So exciting!!!!
What do you guys think?!

To be honest, not liking it at all, in fact, my first words were "It's shit", you can say all you like about them growing up, but this isn't growing up, if anything, if you compare it to songs like Paper Lanterns, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, The Judge's Daughter, 86, Armatage Shanks etc, you would call "Kill the DJ" growing down. But then, the whole pop scene right now is full of dumb music with very few lyrics to it, so maybe Green Day are making a statement of sorts. I really hope the rest of the songs on the albums are nothing like this because this is rubbish, hell, even Oh Love is better, and I hated that at first, at least that grew on me, this crap never will though. I have not intended this post as a troll, so please do not be firing back with stupid crap like "You deserve to die" cos I'd like to think you're intelligent people that can take an alternative opinion from your own. From an early Green Day fan, this just doesn't do it for me, but I will be getting the albums, after all, I hated some of the singles from their earlier albums too.

We agree to disagree. I thank you for stating your opinion!!!
Hey, you took the time to explain yourself instead of just saying 'It's shit'. I appreciate that.

I've been a fan since I was 12 years old in '94, so I can understand what you're saying. I've watched them 'grow up' as I have. KtDJ and Oh Love DO seem a bit redundant in comparison to most of the songs they've released, I will admit. But the funk in KtDJ really catches me. I appreciate that they're going for something different than they have in the past, and they knew there were going to be people who didn't like it. It was a risk they were willing to take, and again, I appreciate it. I love TONS of different types of music from Pop to Rock to Metal to Jazz to Classical to Country (You'd probably laugh at the true randomness when my music is on shuffle). I can even appreciate hip hop, on a very selective basis. So it's easy for me to transition to their new sound.

Did you hear 'Let Yourself Go'? What did you think of it? It seems that the majority of the Green Day fan base like it.

I am pretty much like you, I will listen to anything provided it grabs me, as it were (This does not include Nicki Minaj, she makes me want to kick something) so I can understand your opinion and respect it, and in regards to Let Yourself Go, yep, heard it, and it's strange, cos much like Oh Love, I really like it, which does give me faith for Uno, it was strictly just KtDJ. It will probably eventually grow on me too, maybe I haven't given it a proper chance, hell, I HATED 21st Century Breakdown when it first came out, but it's now one of my favorites from them, so yeah, maybe I have jumped to a rash decision, I'll give it a few more tries and if I come back apologising, with my tail between my legs, you'll know why.

It's awesome! It's certainly a bit more pop-style than some of their older stuff, but is that really a bad thing? It's a great song. Better than Oh Love I think xD

I think that the song itself is great. I dont understand why people are hating on the songs being released. I like them, because Green Day is proving that they've grown up. Punk is still with them, it's the roots of Green Day. They haven't forgotten that. (I mean how the hell could you forget Dookie...?!)
These singles are pretty awesome, because they are different from most things you hear today. I can't wait for the video depspite the rating. I'll make my friends sit their asses down and we will all watch it. Because tomorrow, MTV is finally going to play some real music.
